Disaster Recovery Plan template available for download

To be able to recover from a disaster hitting your IT-infra you will need a few things: a good backup or replica of your data, trained staff, good luck and documentation and procedures. While tools like VMware Site Recovery Manager will do a lot of automation during recovery, you will need a Disaster Recovery Plan. This describe in which way services and application are protected, which level of protection, RTO, RPO, how to recover, timelines, who is in charge for what etc.

OpsVault.com published a Disaster Recovery Plan template in Microsoft Word document which can be a guideline  for your own DR-plan. The template is focussed on protection of Sharepoint and having a second datacenter but is a good start.
