vSphere 4.1 HA and DRS technical deepdive available as e-book for Kindle

Duncan Epping and Frank Denneman wrote THE book about VMware DRS and HA titled ‘vSphere 4.1 HA and DRS technical deepdive’
The book has been available as a paperback for a while now. In the beginning of April Frank and Duncan decided to make the book available as an e-book as while. They choose for the Kindle format as there is an application able to display Kindle format for a lot of devices (Pc, iPad, iPhone, Android and the Kindle reader itself).

The book can be purchased here:

The e-book is very cheap and offers very good value for money. It can be purchased for $ 7,50. When purchased from outside USA the price is just over  $10.-. However by changing the location in the Amazon Kindle shop the e-book can be download from any location for $ 7,50. This is how I did it:

Created an account at Amazo.com
Download the Kindle App for iPad
Start the App and fill in email address and password
Open the Kindle Store and look for the Book
Change the location to one in the USA. I used city New York with ZIP code 10006
Order the book using a creditcard
The book is downloaded to the Kindle app and ready to be read!

Duncan writes about the process on deciding to create an e-book version of the book and the steps needed at his website.

If you like to comment on the book, you can do so by enabling public notes. Duncan explains on his website the procedure:

I was lurking around the Kindle website to figure out how to enable “Public Notes” as I would love to read comments on our book and figure out how we can improve the content. Some of the things that we wrote make a lot of sense to us but might not make a lot of sense to you. I encourage everyone to take the following steps and enable public notes on the books you own. I have enabled mine for the following books that I recently bought for the Kindle. Here are the steps required to enable it:

  1. Login to https://kindle.amazon.com/ with your Amazon account
  2. Click on “Your Books”
  3. Tick the “Public Notes: Make yours public” tickbox

It is as simple as that. I have just bought our book so that I can read your public notes, so take it away! I started reading the vSphere Design book this week and I have added some notes already. I will try to make notes for books each book I buy / read and share them with you and hope all of you will do the same.
