Performance troubleshooting for VMware vSphere

VMware released a very good document on how to troubleshoot performance problems on vSphere. Using flowcharts and step by step descriptions the reader is guided in the process of analyzing the problem and solving it.  In 51 pages performance issues related to CPU, network, memory, storage and VMware tools are discussed. Reading is very much recommended. From the document:

This document is the first installment in a guide covering performance troubleshooting in a vSphere environment. It uses a guided approach to lead the reader through the observable manifestations of complex hardware/software interactions in order to identify specific performance problems. For each problem covered, it includes a discussion of the possible root-causes and solutions. This first installment covers performance troubleshooting on a single VMware ESX 4.0 host.
