Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 versus VMware vSphere pricing

Edwin Yuen, a Senior Technical Product Manager at Microsoft’s Integrated Virtualization team published a new article on the technet website explaining the new pricing of vSphere and comparing it to the pricing of Windows Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 combined with SCVMM. This free product will probably be released at the end of this year! Main attraction is the free live migration and host clustering. Features that need to be paid for when using VMware’s solution.

Mind that a Hyper-V host can only participate in one simultaneously live migration at the same moment!
